Title: The Last Princess of Luxembourg. The Life Elizabeth of Görlitz in the Period between Years 1390 - 1425. Abstract: The thesis aims to describe the life of the last princess of the House of Luxembourg, Elisabeth of Görlitz. Based on an analysis of narrative and diplomatic material spanning between 1390 - 1425 it describes her life from birth until the moment she ultimately became a widow. Elisabeth of Görlitz (1390 - 1451) was the granddaughter of the emperor Charles the IV. and the Swedish king Albrecht I. During a significant period she used to be the only heir of the House of Luxembourg and therefore since her childhood she was an important woman from the political point of view. She married Anthony Duke of Brabant after several unsuccessful engagements. This marriage led Elizabeth to the Western Europe, where she spent the rest of her life. Thanks to this marriage, Luxembourg became the property of the newly married couple. After few years Anthony died in one of the most famous battles of Hundred Years' War - The battle of Agincourt. Soon after that, Elizabeth got married for the second time. Her second husband was John III the Pitiless, the former Prince-Bishop of Liège, which was during this time most known for his efforts of acquiring Holland and Zeeland. Image of Luxembourg in Czech history textbooks in the 19th and 20th century

The objective of this diploma thesis is to characterize the image of Luxembourgs in the Czech history textbooks in the 19th and 20th century. The work is based on the assumption that the history education takes a significant part in making a young person's identity. The thesis describes the development of this image and the way in which the educational literature reflected the atmosphere of the day and its transformation in the context of historical development. The dynamic development of the image of the Czech history of 14th and 15th centuries is the central theme of the work. It will be mainly focused on the historical figures of Bohemian Luxembourg kings: John of Luxembourg, Charles IV, Wenceslaus IV and Sigismund of Luxembourg.
Royal castle and town Loket during the reign of the Luxembourg dynasty

The Loket castle and city history begins in the High Middle Ages. The city likely started to develop in response to the importance of the castle and it's foundation/establishment is connected to the big founding wave of the king Přemysl Otakar II. From the beginning the castle was built as an important point of the royal administration and protection of the land border and it held it's importance all throughout the Middle Ages. Thus it's for example mentioned in Majesty of Charles IV. among royal castles that cannot under any circumstances be stolen or pledged to someone. Rulers of the Luxembourg dynasty played an important role in the appearance of several royal residences and cities, in addition to that Loket is connected to the short episode in the life of Charles IV. Hence the goal of this thesis is to trace down the historical development of the Loket castle and city during the rule of the Luxembourg dynasty in Czech lands, particularly the architectural and constructional transformations, connections of the burgraves of Loket, Loket's townsmen and other important local individuals to the Prague's royal court and possible personal connections of the rulers of Luxembourg dynasty to Loket.

The presented diploma thesis deals with the areas of Beroun and Hořovice in the middle ages. At the core of the work of the Government of The house of Luxembourg - John, Charles IV. and Wenceslas IV. Using sources, examines how developed its management, property tenure. It also looks at the extent to which they have been in the Royal estates, the Church or the aristocratic possession. Also describes the emergence and development of individual towns and villages in Beroun and Hořovice district. It focuses on local nobles and their relationship to the Royal Court. Work also takes into account the Nuremberg path that passed through this area, and its influence on the possession of estates. Causes and consequences of the death of Wenceslas III, the last king of Přemyslid dynasty

This work deals especially with a question of causes of death of the last king of the dynasty of Czech Přemyslids, Wenceslas III. It deals with the most important milestones of rule of this sovereign, that preceded this act, and could be the reasons for the murder in Olomouc, in this way, ending four centuries of ruling Přemyslite tradition. Attention is also drawn to the character of the young king, to his relationship with Czech, Polish and Hungarian nobility and elite, with his sympathizers and opponents. Next the work points to characters of possible culprits involved in the alleged plot against the king. Subsequently, the work proceeds to the consequences of Olomouc murder. Disputes over the Czech throne, and the subsequent onset of the Luxembourg dynasty. The work is based on the relationship between written sources and the author's thoughts of the current literature. This work creates a space for own interpretation and self-reflection of one of the most important and breakthrough milestone of a history of Czech kingdom, which changed the form of Czech state. That prepared the way for coming of the great sovereign and Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire from Přemyslite bloodline, Charles IV.
John of Luxembourg - his way to the throne and the beginning of his reign

v angličtině The bachelor thesis "John of Luxembourg - his way to the throne and the beginning of his reign" describes the circumstances under which John of Luxembourg ascended to the throne of the Czech lands and provides insight into diplomatic negotiations leading to his election and his marriage to Elizabeth of Bohemia. Furthermore, I will focus on the development of the relationships between John and the Bohemian nobility up to his loss of interest in ruling over the Czech lands and his turn to foreign policy. The objective of the work is to provide a faithful personal portrait of the controversial monarch, in whom many put their hopes, in a period from the beginning of his reign to the revolt of the Bohemian burgher patricians against him.
